Vinyl collection update #2!!
Blink-182- Self titled & Blink-182 -Neighborhoods
The week of x-mas I bought myself the limited edition self-titled blink vinyl and got the Neighborhoods vinyl as a gift a few hours later! Blink’s self-titled album took the pop-punk genre in a whole new direction that embraced a more serious tone and left most of their younger crowd with mixed feelings about the release. I was 13 when it came out and it helped me appreciate many of their influences that shined through the record. (e.g., The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode) All the great stuff my parents grew up on. While the much anticipated “Neighborhoods” picked up right where they left off, it still had hints of elements from their first couple releases that brought everything full circle. Blink will forever be my all time favorite band and are the reason I play music today.
